For transparency: I was having an unstable Internet connection that was affecting all VPS machines. I would experience a 3-5 minute disconnect 1-2 times a day. I needed to switch out my router for one that could handle the load of traffic. I'm hopeful this will resolve the issue and the connections should be more stable going forward.
Sorry for the disruptive service today, but this was a necessary evil I needed to take care of.
